The purpose of this report is to provide USAID with a comprehensive assessment of social conflict and violence in the Western Highlands of Guatemala, particularly in the departments of Quiché, Totonicapán, San Marcos, Huehuetenango, Quetzaltenango, and Sololá.

The USAID Guatemala CDCS supports U.S. foreign policy goals as stated in the first pillar of the U.S. Global Development Policy, in the form of sustainable development outcomes that place a premium on broad-based economic growth, human development, democratic governance, game-changing innovations, and sustainable systems for meeting human needs. The CDCS is a five-year plan based on a strategically-targeted approach to address the complex and interrelated development challenges facing Guatemalan society.

La CDCS - Guatemala apoya las metas de la política externa de EEUU, como enunciadas en el primer pilar de su Política de Desarrollo Global. Se enfoca en la obtención de resultados de desarrollo sostenible, principalmente en las áreas de seguridad y justicia para los ciudadanos, crecimiento económico y desarrollo social en el Altiplano Occidental y manejo sostenible de los recursos naturales para mitigar los impactos del cambio climático global.
