Submitting for Telling Our Story

Pre-formatted (see below for downloadable templates) stories should be submitted from outside sources to the Mission communications specialist.

Each month, the Mission communicator can select the two stories that best represent sustainable development impact, and submit those to the corresponding USAID Bureau's FrontLines Correspondent.

A list of Correspondents is found at: http://www.usaid.gov/press/frontlines/fl_apr11/FL_apr11_ABOUT.html

The two-story limit is to ensure all missions can be represented and that we are getting only the most relevant stories showing sustainable development and results! The limit is subject to staffing changes.

Additional Guidelines

  • Having stories in correct format (see word templates) is a precondition for submission. Those not formatted correctly will be sent back by the Correspondents to the submitters.
  • Stories must include photo in original jpeg format.
  • In the case of stories that are relevant to both a core issue and region, the story should be sent to the Regional Correspondent first. For example, an HIV-related story from Kenya would be first submitted to the AFR Bureau Correspondent.
  • Before writing your story, review the Telling Our Story Guidelines to help structure your writing and your submission.

Please put your story into one of the following five Word document templates (click for template below), matching all destination formatting, with the corresponding country banner added up top.
