University of Sierra LeoneFourah Bay College
U.S. Ambassador to Sierra Leone, June Carter Perry, is sponsoring a program to preserve cultural materials in the public archives of John F. Kennedy University in FreetownThe project aims to preserve historic documents at the university archives through physical and digital conservation. This will create a database and increase the accessibility of documents to the general public, government officials and scholars.
In addition, USAID funded a project to refurbish the Fourah Bay College. USAID’s renovation of the John F. Kennedy Building is part of a public infrastructure and youth employment project in Sierra Leone. The $210,000 project improved the university’s research capacity in the social sciences and enhance the study and promotion of good governance and justice.
