Recent Press ReleasesNew U.S. Programs to Help Thailand Manage Future FloodsFriday, January 20, 2012 Bangkok, Thailand – The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is providing three new programs to help Thai authorities and first responders prepare for and manage future emergencies. The first program will provide Incident Command System (ICS) training to Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation experts in the Thai Ministry of Interior. The other two programs, managed by the Bangkok-based Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, will help hospitals, first responders and local communities prepare for future disasters and focus on risk reduction, with training in 19 highly flood-prone Thai provinces.Combating Tuberculosis in Burma, China & ThailandThursday, December 01, 2011 Bangkok, Thailand – The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded a new five-year project to FHI 360 to combat multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and extensively drug resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) in the Greater Mekong Region.
