Wednesday, October 15, 2008

BANGKOK – USAID awarded a three-year, $2 million cooperative agreement to ICF International to reduce energy consumption in China’s rapidly expanding building sector.

The U.S.-China Clean Energy Partnership is a three-year Global Development Alliance focusing on promoting energy efficiency in buildings and reducing associated greenhouse gas emissions.

The program will work with the private sector to improve energy management in buildings and with government counterparts to implement energy performance policies.

ICF’s partners include the China Academy of Building Research, Tongji University, and the China Standard Certification Center. Proposed GDA partners include the U.S. Green Building Council, the Clinton Climate Initiative, the Energy Foundation, the China Business Council for Sustainable Development, and Vanke, China’s largest residential property developer.
