ASEAN Wildlife Enforcement Network Trains Vietnamese Forest Rangers

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

HANOI – The ASEAN Wildlife Enforcement Network (ASEAN-WEN) trained 27 Vietnamese Forest Protection Department officials in wildlife crime.

The USAID- and U.S. Department of State-supported ASEAN-WEN Support Program was invited to conduct the training session as part of a two-week nature crime course conducted by NGOs, the Wildlife Conservation Society, Education for Nature in Vietnam, and TRAFFIC Mekong.

ASEAN-WEN’s inclusion in other groups’ training sessions testifies to its status in the region and is further leveraging the U.S. Government’s funding by making a broader impact.
