affairs, has allocated nearly
$1.3 billion for humanitarian
assistance to nearly 70 countries,
according to the U.N.
Brause will be part of the
fund’s 16-member advisory
panel, which includes representatives
from government,
humanitarian NGOs, and academia.

were named in October.
The other new members

director of Colombia’s Risk
Management Department in
the Ministry of the Interior and
Justice; Satu Helinä Lassila,

Polska Akcja Humanitarna; Brig.
Gen. Abdullah Muhammad
Alsuwedi, the general manager
of Qatar’s Directorate of Civil
Defense; and Elena Madrazo,
secretary-general of Spain’s
Agency for International Aid and
