FrontLines Seeks Cartoonist
FrontLines - May 2009
|
In much of Asia as well as parts of the Africa and the Middle
East, a squat toilet (also known as an eastern or natural-position
toilet) is widely used rather than the “western” flush toilet. In
these areas, water is used in place of toilet paper. So when a
well-meaning donor places water taps far from toilets, it may be
more sanitary but it could delay an urgent bodily need.
