Helen Clark, who was appointed administrator for the United Nations Development Program in April, met with USAID Acting Administrator Alonzo Fulgham June 24 at Agency headquarters in Washington. UNDP runs global development programs in 166 countries, and shares some of the same aims and challenges as USAID. Clark, who is the first woman to lead UNDP, was formerly the prime minister of New Zealand.
