Economic Growth

Economic growth is critical to long-term stability. USAID seeks to secure a self-sustaining future for Pakistan by nurturing more competitive enterprises, more efficient market environments, more effective government policies, and more rewarding business opportunities for women. In particular, USAID works with partners to strengthen Pakistan's agricultural sector by improving the competitiveness of agricultural value chains, increasing technological innovation, promoting water use efficiency, and increasing productivity. These initiatives spur broad-based economic growth and improve the earning power of people throughout the country.

Objectives

  • Increase business competitiveness
  • Expand access to local and international markets
  • Increase agricultural productivity
  • Increase income-generating opportunities
