In the program "Enhancing Government Performance," government officials are given training to provide them with the skills to improve service delivery mechanisms. USAID's implementing partner, The Urban Institute, works closely with local districts and federal, provincial and national governments in Sindh, Punjab, and NWFP, teaching how better to serve communities. Specific areas of training include planning and budget, knowledge of programming in health, education and economic growth.
