Teachers Reach Out in Pakistan

June 15, 2005 - From different corners of Pakistan – Bushra and Safia and 11 other participants met at the USAID-funded teacher training program at Oregon State University. They studied together for three months, visited schools to apply new teaching methods, and learned to use computers.

Back home, they keep in touch through emails and for the first time have access to the latest journals and books on teaching. Their school Principals report that Bushra and Safia are showing new confidence and enthusiasm and are reaching out to other teachers, using their own funds and personal time, to pass on this learning. For the first time teaching and learning is fun for them and the students they work with!
