Indonesia - Earthquake

Brief Description: On May 28, a magnitude 8.7 earthquake hit near the island of Nias 200 km of the Sumatran mainland of Indonesia.  The earthquake killed nearly 400 people and displaced 34,000.  In response to the earthquake, OFDA provided $100,000 to CARE and Save the Children.  In addition, food and other relief supplies already in Indonesia were transported to the affected area to meet emergency needs.
