Funding
USAID supports family planning activities through a variety of programs in more than 65 countries. In fiscal year 2008, Agency-wide funding for family planning and reproductive health totaled $470 million.
USAID supports a comprehensive program of assistance aimed at improving access to family planning services, especially for the poorest segments of the population. The comprehensive program includes developing new and improved methods of contraception, training of health providers, and communications that promote healthy behavior.
