USAID Announces the Release of the Child Survival & Health Programs Fund Progress Report to Congress for Fiscal Year 2003
The health programs of USAID are vital to international development and serve as a cornerstone of U.S. foreign assistance. USAID's programs in global health represent the commitment and determination of the U.S. government and fulfill the moral mandate to prevent suffering, save lives, and create a brighter future for families in the developing world.
To underscore the importance of this work, the Agency highlights its progress in child survival and maternal health, vulnerable children, HIV/AIDS, other infectious diseases, and family planning/reproductive health in a report to Congress. Published annually by the Bureau for Global Health, this report describes key health achievements and activities and examples of programs in which USAID, in collaboration with its partners, has been able to achieve successful country-level results.
USAID also works in agriculture, democracy & governance, economic growth, the environment, education, global partnerships, and humanitarian assistance in more than 100 countries to provide a better future for all.
