2004 XV International AIDS Conference USAID Satellite Sessions - Committed to Fighting HIV/AIDS
USAID is proud to be a key partner in President Bush's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, a five year, $15 billion U.S. government initiative that aims to provide treatment to at least two million people infected with HIV, prevent 7 million new infections, and provide care to 10 million people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, including vulnerable children, by 2008.
The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief will pursue its goals in 15 focus countries. In addition, USAID will continue to support HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention, and care activities through its missions and regional programs in Africa, Asia and the Near East, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Eurasia.
