Water Finance
Increasing access to water, sanitation and hygiene services requires private sector involvement and sustainable local financing. USAID supports access to local finance for investments in this sector by providing partial credit guarantees to enable communities to invest in water and sanitation improvements. USAID missions such as India, the Philippines, and Kenya, for example, have each used the Development Credit Authority to harness local financing for investments in improved water services.
