Selected Activity Photos Header

After a peaceful political transition, Georgia is moving toward becoming a stable democratic country, increasingly integrated into the global economy. However, years of political unrest and conflict have taken their toll on the country, particularly on its women, and slow economic growth, corruption, and poor-quality basic social services present the new government with challenges. USAID/Georgia's development strategies are aimed at supporting the government as it addresses these challenges and ushers in a new era of reform. Mission activities containing a gender component include fostering political participation and good local governance, advancing legal rights, enhancing economic growth, particularly in the areas of agriculture and trade, improving health, and curbing trafficking.
