Civilian Response Corps
Civilian Deployment Center
Civilian Response Corps (CRC) deployments require the proper out-processing of up to dozens of personnel in a short period of time. Transporting, equipping, providing pre-deployment training, supplying, and supporting large numbers of CRC officers will pose a significant challenge. USAID has been tasked with establishing the Civilian Deployment Center (CDC), based on its experience in deploying rapid response teams to provide emergency humanitarian relief worldwide. Deployment of the CRC will include mission specific pre-deployment training, the logistics of their movement to and from the field, their equipping at the outset and sustainment in the field, and the warehousing of equipment required by the CRC when not in use.
The CDC will serve as the focal deployment support center for outgoing CRC personnel beginning in 2009, as well as a staging station for CRC members returning from assignments.
