The XV International AIDS Conference links community and science to galvanize the world's response to HIV/AIDS through increased commitment, leadership and accountability. The U.S. has and continues to invest billions of dollars to combat AIDS globally. USAID is proud to be a Cooperating Institution of the Conference.

USAID will have Booth 72 at the XV International AIDS Conference Exhibition at the IMPACT Exhibition Centre throughout the week of the Conference. Please visit Booth 72 to learn more about USAID's response in the fight against the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

During the XV International AIDS Conference, approximately 100 commercial and non-commercial satellite meetings on specific issues relating to HIV/AIDS will take place. USAID sponsored three satellite sessions:

  • Taking a Closer Look at the "ABCs" of HIV Prevention

  • Models of Strategic Action to Support Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children Affected by HIV/AIDS

  • Reducing Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV - Challenges and Success: Where We Are and Where Are are Going

A complete listing of all USAID Sponsored events at the Conference (PDF).

To learn more about the Conference, please visit the Conference website at www.aids2004.org.

USAID is also proud to be a key partner in President Bush's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, a five year, $15 billion U.S. government initiative that aims to provide treatment to at least two million people infected with HIV, prevent 7 million new infections, and provide care to 10 million people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, including vulnerable children, by 2008.
