Emergency Food Security Program

Annual Program Statement
The Fiscal Year 2010 and 2011 Congressional Budget Justification included a request for emergency food security funding to be used for cash-based food assistance, including local and regional purchase of food, and other interventions, such as food voucher and cash transfer programs to facilitate the availability of and/or access to food. In April 2010, USAID’s Office of Food for Peace released an Annual Program Statement to solicit applications for emergency programs utilizing these interventions. In April 2011, Food for Peace released an Annual Program Statement for Fiscal Year 2011 that solicits applications for emergency programs that utilize the primary mechanism of Title II in-kind food aid resources; or locally and/or regionally procured commodities, cash transfers and food vouchers; or a combination of both resources.
