JOB SUMMARY: This position is with the United States Agency for International Development's (USAID), Office of Inspector General (OIG). The position will be in the Office of Audits, Performance Audits Division. The incumbent will report directly to the Division Director. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring compliance with all the administrative support activities required in a Division of the OIG, and for facilitating the substantive work of OIG auditors by directing and assuming responsibility for all the significant administrative work performed in the Division to which s/he is assigned.

  • Major Duties:

    Develops and implements quality control systems to ensure Division's correspondence and communications are in compliance with all relevant agency guidance and direction and properly reflect OIG policies and procedures. Works closely with Division Director and staff to coordinate and implement important policy initiatives and related confidential and controversial OIG projects and reviews. Trains office management and staff on adherence to program requirements. Develops new and modified administrative program policies, regulations, goals, and objectives as required to maintain and improve program effectiveness in the office. Performs special assignments for Director that are designed to effect internal improvements in the office, develops statistics and related data covering administrative and program areas and reports findings in a variety of formats and presentations.

    Reviews correspondence, reports, publications and other sources of interest to Director, and prepares synopses for his/her review and possible action. Arranges for Director's meetings with key officials within and outside OIG. Reviews, assembles and provides materials for use by Director in speaking engagements. Reviews all correspondence addressed to the Division Director and determines its appropriate disposition. Composes correspondence for Division Director's signature, and personally composes and signs non-technical administrative correspondence. Maintains Division Director's calendar and makes his/her travel arrangements.

    Qualifications:

    You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this position that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically this experience would be in work within this field or a field that is closely related. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements of the Office of Personnel Management's Qualification Standards Handbook.

    Special Requirements

    You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.

    After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use.

    In order to qualify for this position, you must possess a Top Secret security clearance.

    You must meet time-in-grade restrictions by the closing date of this announcement.

    You must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. You can self-certify by submitting a statement that you can type this speed.

    OTHER DOCUMENTS REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO THE APPLICATION FORM:

  • Narrative statement (written by applicant) explaining his/her experience relative to the KSA's above. Do not respond by referring to an      item number on your application or by repeating material on your application.
  • Current performance appraisal dated within the last 18 months, if currently employed in the Federal Government.
  • SF 50 (Notification of Personnel Action) showing competitive status, if applicable.
  • Documentation showing proof of eligibility as a surplus or displaced employee.
  • Handicapped applicants, disabled veterans, and VRA's or any others eligible for a noncompetitive appointment under special appointing authorities must clearly specify this eligibility on their application and attach documentation.

    Federal employees seeking CTAP/ICTAP eligibility must submit proof that they meet the requirements of 5 CFR 330.605(a) for CTAP and 5 CFR 330.704 for ICTAP. This includes a copy of the agency notice, a copy of their most recent performance appraisal and a copy of their most recent SF-50 noting current position, grade level, and duty location.
