USAID continued its celebration of 25 years of progress and partnership with Mozambique with an exhibition in the northern province of Nampula from December 10-13. The event opened with a reception for Nampula-based Government of Mozambique officials, U.S. Mission staff, and implementing partners in the region. Professor Doutor Felismino Tocoli, Governor of Nampula, joined USAID Mission Director Todd Amani and U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Todd Chapman in delivering remarks, and toasting to 25 years of working together in Mozambique.
The exhibition featured photos and displays illustrating the historical impact of USAID programs in Mozambique, and highlighted current programs in agriculture, food security, democracy and governance, education, health, trade, and tourism.
The 25th Anniversary celebration was officially launched on November 19 at the Fortaleza de Maputo at a reception for Government of Mozambique officials, U.S. Mission staff, and representatives from implementing partners.
