PMI Supports the Ministry of Health Joint Measles, Vitamin A and Malaria Campaign

During the month of October in Nampula province, USAID and UNICEF helped procure and distribute more than 800,000 mosquito nets to children under five as part of the Ministry of Health’s one-week integrated Measles and Malaria campaign.  Funding was provided by the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) through USAID/Mozambique.  Eighteen warehouses, 15 trucks, and 131 light vehicles were rented for the campaign, and more than 4,000 volunteers were trained by USAID, through PSI’s malaria program staff, in the weeks leading up to the campaign.
