She started out as a secretary, but Margaret Penedo isn't one to let titles get in the way of her doing whatever is necessary to make sure the work of the USAID Mission in Guatemala gets done. Whether it's training cafeteria workers in hygiene or developing a scene setter for the Ambassador or other dignitaries, Ms. Penedo can be counted on to take on duties that far exceed her job description. When she's not providing excellent Spanish translation for official documents and presentations, tracking the results of external communications, fielding public inquiries, or planning an event, she's coordinating the other secretaries in organizing the research library. Recently promoted to program assistant, the Foreign Service National of the Year is clearly someone who demonstrates the best qualities found in USAID staff in the countries we serve. Great going, Margaret! Good Job!
