USAID/Colombia’s Alternative Development Program supports Colombia’s efforts to reduce the dependency on the illicit economy in vulnerable areas by providing incentives which encourage entire communities to abandon the cocaine industry.  In Silvia, Department of Cauca, indigenous groups are part of a program to strengthen fish farming organizations implemented in 19 communities.  The activity has benefited 314 families and generated 216 full-time jobs.  Here a participant holds one of the fish raised in Silvia.  For more information, click on the picture.
