"One StreetS Our World, Our Future!" Youth Activism Project

Ledra/Lokmaci Street may be divided but on June 5th, it became one again as nearly 600 youth came together for a multi-cultural street festival. The festival was organized by Youth Leaders and Cultural Activists, part of the Youth Activism Project funded through the ACT program. It was the first time that such an event was planned and carried out exclusively by the young people themselves. The festival, which lasted for 5 hours, included ethnic music and performances by local dance groups along the historic street. Ledra/Lokmaci Street opened for pedestrian crossing in 2008 and is home to many shops and restaurants.
