USAID Helps Young Orphans

September 23, 2008

Under the Small Grants program, USAID presented a check for $50,000 to Saint Vincent Orphanage for Daughters of Charity. The donation will allow the orphanage to purchase equipment for the organization’s kitchen and study room.

Established in 1947 in Broummana, Saint Vincent Orphanage for Daughters of Charity is a Lebanese non-governmental organization that provides free of charge dormitory services and schooling to 127 young boys coming from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds. USAID’s assistance will help these young boys – between 6 and 13 years old – have better living conditions, eat healthier meals and study in an improved learning environment.
