WELCOME TO USAID | LEBANON

Side-by-side with the Lebanese people, the U.S. Agency for International Development works to improve the lives of the Lebanese people through development projects that foster stability and democracy. This partnership between the people of America and Lebanon dates back to 1951, and continues in strength today.

The American people are contributing $109 million to USAID’s programs in Lebanon in 2010. USAID invests those funds in a range of areas that Lebanon has identified as priorities including support for increasing democratic pratices and promotion of the rule of law; strengthening civil society within the country; capacity develoment of teacher skills and improved learning environments in public schools; reducing pollution of the Upper Litani River and improving water management; and increasing incomes and expanding job creation.
