DESCRIPTION:
In line with the Government of India’s decision to adopt the United States Incident Command System for emergency response management with modifications to suit Indian conditions, the United States Forest Service is providing technical assistance to the National Institute of Disaster Management, a Government of India institution in adapting and developing training modules on the Incident Command System.
The modules will be compatible with the National Guidelines on Incident Response System established by the National Disaster Management Authority, Government of India, in July 2010. The main objective of the modules is to train 72 Master Trainers who will further train other State Government officials. Eleven training modules based on the existing Incident Command Systems modules will be developed and adapted to the Indian context.
