Directory on HIV/AIDS Care in Delhi Released

For the first time ever, a resource directory providing a comprehensive listing of organizations in Delhi that provide HIV/AIDS related services was released here today, along with a series of five other books on positive living for persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Mr. Walter North, India Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Dr. Peter Lamptey, President of the Family Health International (FHI) Institute for HIV/AIDS released the publication, named A Resource Directory of HIV/AIDS Services in Delhi .
Published by The Naz Foundation ( India ) Trust with funding from USAID and FHI, the directory provides a comprehensive listing of organizations in Delhi that provide HIV/AIDS voluntary counseling and testing, free antiretroviral drugs and care and support for persons living with HIV/AIDS.
On the occasion, the Naz Foundation also released five other booklets named Feeling Positive ; Care Today, Healthy Tomorrow; Protect Your Rights; Physical Care of People; and Eating Healthy, Living Healthy . These booklets provide practical information on health, support, nutrition, services and legal rights for persons living with HIV/AIDS and for their families.
The directory is the latest intervention of the Naz Foundation, which has spent 10 years providing HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support services. The Foundation's work with truckers, men who have sex with men, and other vulnerable groups has been recognized and supported by USAID, FHI, The Ford Foundation and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Recently, the Naz Foundation established a 14-bed HIV/AIDS care and treatment center with support from the Richard Gere Foundation.
