First, as Cheryl points out, rebuilding Haiti, first and foremost, is a partnership with the Haitian Government and we are fortunate to be working with the Haitian Government across the range of sectors that I'll describe. In most cases, it is the Government of Haiti, through coordinating systems on the ground, that is providing the specific strategic leadership about what gets done in what neighborhoods and at what pace. And that has been very important to guide the efforts of our collective response efforts but also efforts of other donors and other partners.

What my role here is, is to help coordinate the engineer effort across all the military services. Although I am in the Army, I'm working very closely with the United States Navy, the Coast Guard, the Marine Corps and the Air Force to make sure all those military forces are working together. What our goal is to, like I said, restore essentially services. The top five that we look at are ports, airfields, roads, the electrical grid, and water. As we go forward today I'd be happy to field any questions on those.

As you know, the United Nations, working with the Haitian government and its international partners, our efforts to coordinate effectively have produced a very strong collaboration. It's our shared goal to alleviate the suffering of the earthquake survivors as much as we can, as fast as possible. And in the days following the quake the focus was on responding to the acute emergency needs and that still continues. Now we're taking the steps to address the emerging health risk of the population including some million people who have been made homeless by the quake including tens of thousands of people crowded together and living under plastic sheets.

It's important that we see ourselves as partners with Haiti - not patrons - that we work intensely together to produce results that can be seen and felt by the Haitians themselves. Our goal is a peaceful and prosperous future for the people of Haiti. Many of us have a great commitment to Haiti that precedes the tragedy of the earthquake, and the Obama Administration was committed to working with Haiti, and we stand ready to continue to do all that we can to help realize this better future for the Haitians. And I thank all of our partners in this effort.

I'm happy to be here to try to respond to some of your questions. We are trying to respond as quickly as we can to this catastrophe of biblical proportions by mustering all of the resources that the United States government can bring to bear, first on rescue leading into relief, which is where we are right now, and hopefully seamlessly into recovery. We have mobilized significant resources as quickly as we could. You never think this is going to go as fast as you would like it to go. We brought in a considerable number of people from USAID which is the lead agency as directed by the President.

Our priorities continue to be in several areas. Urban search and rescue. Obviously that phase is winding down. We have been on the ground, as I've mentioned before, the first U.S. team arrived on January 13th, within 24 hours of the earthquake. We still have teams on the ground. We still have presence. We still currently today have teams at Montana and small teams throughout the city. Other priorities we have obviously are food. We are working very hard to work with the World Food Program. As I've mentioned previously, the U.S. government has donated $78 million to the World Food Program during this emergency.
