June 28, 2011

The report, entitled "Economic Interdependence in Cyprus" is part of an ongoing collaboration between Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce to promote economic interaction and to demonstrate the peace dividends of reconciliation.
Launched at an event on June 28 in Nicosia's Buffer Zone, the report examines the current state of economic interdependence between Cyprus' two communities and makes recommendations to enhance it in the future.

The current level of economic interdependence between the Greek Cypriot and the Turkish Cypriot communities is larger than commonly perceived, according to the findings of a recent report published by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce. The report, entitled "Economic Interdependence in Cyprus" is part of an ongoing collaboration between the two organizations to promote economic interaction and to demonstrate the peace dividends of reconciliation. The Economic Interdependence project is supported by USAID through the UNDP Action for Cooperation and Trust.
