Feds Hire Vets -Information for Veterans Website

FedsHireVets.gov—provides information about the Veterans Employment Initiative, a White House initiative that underscores to federal agencies the importance of recruiting and training veterans, aims to increase the employment of veterans within the Executive Branch, and helps recently hired veterans adjust to service in a civilian capacity.

America's Heroes at Work—designed for employers and the workforce development system, this Web site offers information and tools to help returning service members affected by Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder succeed in the workplace.

O*Net OnLine (Occupational Information Network)—matches your military experience to civilian occupation codes.

Department of Veterans Affairs—gets veterans the services they have earned.

Office of Personnel Management Veterans Information—provides information for job-seeking veterans, veterans currently employed by the federal government, and federal human resources specialists; also helps veterans determine special rights and privileges for federal civil service employment.

Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program—provides assistive technology and services to people with disabilities, federal managers, supervisors, IT professionals, and Wounded Services Members.

Veterans Employment and Training Center (Department of Labor)—provides veterans and transitioning service members with the resources and services such as transition and employment services (TAP) and Compliance Assistance for Employment disputes to succeed in the 21st century workforce by maximizing their employment opportunities, protecting their employment rights and meeting labor-market demands with qualified veterans today.

Disability.gov—serves as the federal government's Web site for people with disabilities, their families, employers, veterans and service members, workforce professionals and many others. A collaborative effort among 22 federal agencies, Disability.gov connects people with disabilities to the information and resources they need to actively participate in the workforce and in their communities.

Military OneSource—provided by the Department of Defense at no cost to active duty, Guard and Reserve (regardless of activation status) and their families. It is a virtual extension of installation services. Visit Military OneSource today or call 1-800-342-9647.

National Resource Directory—an online tool for wounded, ill and injured Service Members, Veterans, their families, and those who support them. The NRD provides access to more than 11,000 services and resources at the national, state and local levels that support recovery, rehabilitation and community reintegration.
