The main objective of DCA is to overcome a major obstacle to private enterprise growth in BiH—lack of financing for SMEs, particularly medium and long-term financing. USAID entered into four DCA agreements with three BiH commercial banks (Unicredit, Volksbank and UPI Bank) where USAID guarantees up to 50% of loans that these three banks make to BiH SMEs in wood processing, agro-business and tourism.  Read more... The main objective of this program is to facilitate the development and integration of 100 women-led micro-enterprises into a sustainable value-chain that will integrate both Muslim and Christian Orthodox (Serb) communities. The Entities in Bosnia-Herzegovina went through the major direct tax and social contribution collection policy reforms with the assistance of ELMO and TARA projects.  Both Entities introduced the new corporate and personal income tax legislation.  They also amended relevant laws from health, labor, and employment sectors to enable introduction of the Unified Collection System (UCS), an electronic database that will improve contributions’ collection at Entity tax administration.  Continued development of a modern system for tax and contributions collection will improve the business environment and increase revenue collection.   Read more...
