Srebrenica Dialogue Center builds upon the successful work of the
Nansen Dialogue Center (NDC) Sarajevo, and serves as a forum for
inter-ethnic community initiatives for students, parents, business
leaders, municipal officials, and others in the Srebrenica region.
The dialogue center is co-located with a new multimedia room at the
National Library in Srebrenica (funded by the Royal Norwegian
Embassy in 2008).

project aims to increase social trust between Bosniaks, Serbs and
Croats through shared efforts to improve communities in Brcko
District. This project will engage 240 unemployed, out-of-school,
disadvantaged, 16-to-28 year old women and men in an intensive
hands-on program to create tangible community assets such as
renovated homes, community play areas, public gardens and
microenterprises, while practicing skills for responsible
citizenship, productive employment and healthy family life. YBI’s
partners in this project are two local NGOs; PRONI Center for Youth
Development and Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). |

Public
International Law & Policy Group (PILPG) program
aims to provide a broad spectrum of BiH civil society leaders with
the legal and technical support necessary to engage the national
government in the critical process of constitutional reform. This
program calls for a series of complementary people-to-people
activities aimed at building consensus on constitutional reforms
among a broad range of civil society leaders and then preparing
those leaders to engage with the BiH government on constitutional
reform. The proposed activities include: (1) an assessment of the
current Constitution’s effectiveness, including community outreach
meetings to evaluate public opinion; (2) workshops on comparative
constitutional analysis, consensus-building, and legislative
drafting; (3) negotiation simulations on the process of
constitutional reform; and (4) scenario planning exercises to
prepare civil society leaders to engage in vigorous, effective
advocacy efforts in favor of constitutional reform. |

This program helps the resettlement, into civilian and economic
life, of persons who are going to be discharged in the course of the
defense reform process over 2010 to 2012.
The
program will assist up to 600 affected personnel through vocational
training, tools, local development and community needs. The
reintegration process will cover three main areas: Education to
include specialized courses/re-qualification; Business/Self
Employment, including trades, crafts, and other manual labor; and
Employment/Job placement. This program will also provide the BiH
Ministry of Defense staff with an opportunity to start concretely
implementing resettlement programs and will strengthen their
capacity to carry out resettlement initiatives. This program is part
of a larger program with collaboration and funding from Slovenia,
Norway, and other European donors.

elected leaders. It will strengthen electioneering capacities of

parties to organize roundtable forums and community policy debates.
