USAID supports the inclusion of people with disabilities in its development activities. Since 2005, the Agency's Disability Program fund has awarded over $20 million, supporting 60 projects in 48 countries. The fund aims to increase the participation of people with disabilities in current USAID programs, and to strengthen the capacity of disabled people's organizations (DPOs).
Small grant funding available through USAID missions and Washington operating units to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in their programs is approximately $3 million per year.
