USAID Announces New University Engagement Partnership Program
02/09/2012 - Yesterday, at a White House innovation event, and echoing President Barack Obama's commitment and vision for a greater focus on development through innovation, science and technology, Dr. Rajiv Shah, Administrator for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), announced the final Higher Education Solutions Network Request for Applications (RFA) to build new opportunities through partnerships with universities and colleges.
We must do better than cash
02/09/2012 - Cash can stifle economic development. That might seem counterintuitive. Aid is critical to ameliorating the plight of poor people living on far less a day than we spend on a latte. But physical cash can undercut many development objectives the U.S. government works to achieve.
